Cummins India Q1 net up 1.6% at Rs 89.7 cr

Diesel engines maker Cummins India Ltd has posted a marginal increase of 1.6 per cent in net profit to Rs 89.66 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal against Rs 88.24 crore posted over the same period previous year.

This despite of a 11.9 per cent drop in revenues to Rs 656.04 crore during the April-June quarter against Rs 744.7 crore posted a year ago, the Pune -based company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange ( BSE ).

Cummins India Ltd, during the quarter successfully managed to cut down operational expenses, which helped the company post good net profit despite of a drop in revenues. On sequential grounds however, the company net profit dropped by 24.13 per cent to Rs 89.66 crore during the April-June quarter against Rs 118.18 crore , the statement said.

 

The revenues also declined by 38.81 per cent against Rs 1,072.16 crore posted during January-March 2009, the statement said.
