With an investment of $300 million lined up for its various plants across the country in next three years, Cummins India is planning to move all its export oriented units (EOUs) in the country to special economic zones (SEZs) in the near future.

Cummins is setting up three new facilities in Maharashtra, while one is coming up at the Prithampur SEZ in Madhya Pradesh. It has planned a unit each in Kothrud and Pirangut in Pune and one in Devas.

"The tax incentives being enjoyed by EOUs at present will be withdrawn from March 2009. Considering this, we are planning to move these units to SEZs," a company official said.
