Dabur net up nearly 30%, sales by almost 16%

The consolidated net profit of Dabur Ltd increased by 29.7 per cent to touch Rs 135.3 crore for the quarter ended March 31, compared to Rs 104.3 crore for the corresponding period a year ago. Net sales increased 16 per cent for the quarter to touch Rs 848.8 crore, as against Rs 731.65 crore last year.

For the full year ended March 31, Dabur’s net profit increased 28.7 per cent to touch Rs 503.53 crore as against Rs 391.2 crore last year. Net sales increased 20 per cent to touch Rs 3,365.7 crore as against Rs 2,805.4 crore last year.

 

The company managed to control raw material costs, which increased marginally — by 4.6 per cent and 4.7 per cent, respectively — in the quarter as well as the year ended March 31. Advertising and sales promotion expenditure increased 20 per cent and 41.1 per cent for the quarter and year ended March 31. The rise in the latter was due to the competitive market, the company said.

Key categories such as hair care, oral care, skin care, health supplements and digestives registered healthy growth, it added.

The stock was up 1.2 per cent to close at Rs 180 today. The intra-day high was Rs 181, while the low was Rs 174.
