Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Dabur India Ltd is looking forward to strengthen its popular Odomos range of mosquito repellents (personal application products) in the market. |
The company announced the relaunch of Rs 40 crore worth brand at a press conference held in the city today. |
"Uttar Pradesh is a very important market for Odomos and accounts for 17 per cent of the brand's all India sales. We are confident that the brand in its new format will be well received by the customers and will help in combating the outbreak of diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya in the state," Harkawal Singh, senior product manager, home care division, Dabur, told Business Standard. |
The product, available in cream, lotion and gel form, has been re-launched after making the formulation more skin friendly, along with certifications from reputed institutes on its efficacy and safety for usage. |
Odomos, which was originally under the brand name of Balsara Home Products, has become a subsidiary of Dabur India with effect from April 1, 2005. |
"We are the second most popular FMCG brand in rural Uttar Pradesh. With a vast distribution network of more than a lakh retail outlets across the state, Odomos will soon make its presence felt in the market," said Adarsh Sharma, general manager, sales. |
"We will be distributing about 30,000 units of Odomos in Delhi, in the areas which were worst hit by dengue and chikungunya. Likewise talks are in process with the Mayor for a similar kind of activity in Mumbai," said Byas Anand, manager, corporate communications. |
