Daiichi Sankyo announces it will defer Ranbaxy open offer

Japanese drug major Daiichi Sankyo Company  has announced to defer its planned  open offer to acquire additional 20 per cent stake in Ranbaxy Laboratories.

The open offer was scheduled to open on August 8 and close on August 27, as announced earlier.

In a communication to the stock exchanges, ICICI Securities, which manages the open offer on behalf of Daiichi Sankyo, said today that the new open offer date would be announced later.

It has submitted the draft Letter of Offer to the market regulator Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on June 27, 2008 as per the regulations and was awaiting approval from the regulator.

 

The revised schedule of activities in respect of the offer pertaining to acquisition of the equity shares of Ranbaxy would be announced separately after receiving Sebi's observations, said the statement.
