Dalmia Cement today reported a 3.24 per cent jump in its cement despatches for May at 3.19 lakh tonnes as compared to 3.09 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period.
The production of the construction material, however, fell marginally to 3.23 lakh tonnes last month, from 3.26 lakh tonnes in the same period last year, Dalmia Cement said in a statement.
During the first two months of the fiscal, the despatches grew by 12.70 per cent to 6.48 lakh tonnes from 5.75 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period last year.
The total production during the current fiscal stands at 6.51 lakh tonnes from 5.88 lakh tonnes in the first two months of 2008-09, Dalmia Cement said.
