Danone introduces new drink in India

French Group Danone has introduced a new water based restoration drink B’lue in India for the first time. Danone has formed a JV with Mumbai based Narang Beverages for the manufacturing and marketing of the this drink. B'lue will be manufactured at the company’s new plant set up at Daund near Pune.
Commenting on this, Pierre Betat, country manager Danone-Narang Beverages said, "We believe in innovation and want to add value to our consumer’s life by giving them a drink they will enjoy and that has some functional benefits. From the name to pack to recipe and flavours, the beverage has been designed and developed, especially by the Indian consumer and for the Indian consumer.
Considering the response in Pune, we will launch this drink across India. Introduced in two fruit flavours of Apple and Guava, B’lue is available in 500ml pet bottle priced at Rs 30. The flavours are specially developed for India co-developed with international flavours supplier Firmenich.
It does not contain any caffeine, colour, preservatives or carbonation. Danone has been selling these flavoured beverages in Indonesia and China under a different brand and are available in orange, lime. litchi, mango and passion fruit flavours. B’lue has been launched after an two-year consumer research In India.
Danone has set up a research and development centre in China. The company will be opening 150 to 200 outlets in India in the next two years.
