IT firm Infosys Technologies today signed a pact with French software company Dassault Systemes for becoming its global system integration partner.

"The deal will help in promoting Dassault solutions in India and the other markets in South Asia, Europe and North America," Dassault Systemes President and Chief Executive Officer Bernard Charles told reporters here.

Dassault offers imagining and simulating solutions across sectors like aerospace, defense, engineering and construction, life sciences and ship building.

Talking about the Indian market, Charles said, "India is the fastest growing country for us and we will continue to focus here, an example being the partnership with Infosys today."

He added that business would be driven by industries like automobile, aerospace and defence, infrastructure, apparel and ship building as these segments move towards using more simulation and 3D solutions.

Dassault has 1,350 people as part of its India operations, with 1,250 of them in research and development.

"Though we can't comment on specific numbers, but we will increase out R&D team here as business grows. The centres in India work with other centres (globally) to cater to worldwide customers," Charles said. The company has three R&D centres in Pune, Bangalore and Chennai.
