DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) today posted over 66% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 82.33 crore for the quarter ended March on better sales in businesses such as sugar, fertiliser and chloro-vinyl.
The company had posted net profit of Rs 49.5 crore in the same quarter last year, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
DSCL's total income rose by seven% at Rs 1,426.77 crore in the fourth quarter of 2012-13 fiscal, as against Rs 1,336.99 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

The increase in revenue was driven by growth in sugar, fertiliser, chloro-vinyl sales.
For the 2012-13 fiscal, DSCL's consolidated net profit rose sharply to 202.45 crore, from Rs 11.9 crore in the previous financial year.
The revenue was up by 10% at Rs 5,538 crore in 2012-13, as against Rs 5,039 crore in the previous fiscal.
DSCL scrip rose by 1% to settle at Rs 57.80 on the BSE.
