Newspaper publisher Deccan Chronicle Holdings today said its net profit grew 86.39 per cent to Rs 261.09 crore in the year ended March 2010, over Rs 140.07 crore in the previous fiscal.
Total income increased to Rs 921.92 crore in the year under review from Rs 857.61 crore in the last year, Deccan Chronicle Holdings said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
However, for the quarter ended March 31, net profit declined to Rs 6.50 crore from Rs 8.15 crore in the same period last fiscal, while total income rose to Rs 198.99 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 187.97 crore in the same period previous year.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 141.50, down 3.71 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
