Deccan launches SMS booking service

Low cost carrier Deccan has announced the launch of its mFly initiative, in partnership with electronic distribution service provider, Oxigen.
 
Oxigen Services (India) Pvt Ltd chairman and MD Pramod Saxena told reporters here on Monday, the mFly initiative was an "exclusive tie-up with Deccan" in the aviation sector.
 
mFly is a pre-paid user account, which can be accessed through a mobile phone to book Deccan tickets. Passengers have to register themselves at any of the 35,000 Oxigen outlets across the country and will receive a unique 4 digit password.
 
Customers can then deposit cash in their accounts, which can be topped up later. For a transaction fee of Rs 50 per booking, passengers can check flight availability and book tickets, by sending an SMS to a particular number. The fare will be debited from their Oxigen accounts
 
Oxigen Services claims to have done business of Rs 600 crore last year by facilitating telecom and DTH subscriber payments.
