Morbi-based Decolight Ceramics will be introducing aluminium composite panels (ACPs) in the market under its brand 'Granolite'.

A leading player in vitrified ceramic tiles in Gujarat, the company will invest Rs 4 crore on an ACP plant of a capacity of 5,000 sq mt per day.

"We will begin manufacturing the ACPs in the next six months. The ACPs will be priced around Rs 50-55 per sq mt," said Girish Pethapara, chairman-cum-managing director, Decolight Ceramics.

Decolight is also setting up a 4.6 Mw wind turbine generator (WTG) of three capacities at a total investment of Rs 23.75 crore. Of these, a 1.25 Mw WTG has been set up at Kadoli in Kutch district at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

The company has leased the land from Gujarat Energy Development Corporation and has outsourced the job of setting up the generator to Suzlon.

Recently, Decolight expanded its capacity for vitrified ceramic tiles from 6,000 sq mt per day to 12,000 sq mt per day at an investment of Rs 43.45 crore for which the company entered the capital market with a public issue for the same amount to fund the investment.

According to Pethapara, the vitrified ceramic tiles market is expected to grow from the present 120,000 sq mt per day to 800,000 sq mt per day in the next five years.

"There is a huge potential in this market and even we have a lot of scope to grow. Presently, we hold just 10 per cent of the market," said Pethapara, adding that the market has more potential in states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and southern states.
