OIS Advanced Technology (OIS-AT) and Rafaut, a French company involved in aeronautics and armament, have entered into an agreement to manufacture aircraft pylons at the former’s manufacturing facility in the National Capital Region, besides setting up a joint research and development facility in the country to cater to customised Indian requirements.
Aircraft pylons are essential part of weapon delivery systems of aircraft. Customised for each aircraft, they enable the aircraft to carry missiles and bombs.
“We are pleased that Rafaut has agreed to support establishing a manufacturing line for advanced aircraft pylons in our manufacturing facilities. When combined with our agreement to jointly establish an R&D lab to cater to the special requirements of the Indian military, is in support of the Indian government’s Make In India programme,” Sanjay Bhandari, chairman and managing director of OIS Advanced Technology, said in a release.
