Defiance, an engineering services provider and part of the Hinduja Group, has set a target to be among the top 10 global players for solution excellence in less than three years.

The company had appointed Subu D Subramanian, who was heading the manufacturing and automotive vertical of Satyam Computer Services, as its chief executive officer.

To achieve the target, the company is planning to expand beyond design and engineering to manufacturing and enterprise solutions. It would serve customers beyond automotive to other industry verticals including aerospace and defence.

The company is also planning to expand its global footprint. Currently, it operates in the US and India and is planning to focus on Europe, Asia Pacific and West Asia. “We will work on a global delivery model, not on offshore model,” added Subramanian. The company has 120 clients in the automotive sector.

As part of the expansion plan, Defiance is planning to increase its employee strength to 5,000 from 1,000 now over the next three years.

It is also planning to set up a development centre in Chennai.
