Delhi-based Kanu Kitchen Kulture Private Limited, which retails the Hacker modular kitchen brand in India, is in talks with Mumbai-based construction firm DB (Dynamix Balwas) Realty, for supply of 900 Hacker modular kitchens worth Rs 54 crore.

Hacker is a modular kitchen brand from German-based Hacker Kuchen GmbH and Co. It entered India in 2004 with a showroom at Delhi.

Inaugurating Hacker’s sixth showroom in the country at Hyderabad, Kanu Kitchen’s chairman and managing director Mukesh Kumar said, “Negotiations are on with DB Realty and the agreement has not been signed yet.” The company is planning to expand to other cities like Ludhiana, Indore and Chennai.

Willy Kamm, director, Hacker Asia, said, “Around 47 per cent out of the total export of modular kitchens from Europe to foreign countries comes to India. This indicates that every second modular kitchen manufactured in Europe comes to India. So, we have big plans for the Indian market.”

Hacker produces 450 modular kitchens and 7,000 carcases per day from its manufacturing plant in Germany. The company is expects its turnover to reach 400 million Euro from the current 330 million Euro.

The modular kitchen price ranges between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 60 lakh and is available in 163 variants. “The Hyderabad showroom has come up with an investment of Rs 3 crore. We are expecting a turnover of Rs 3-4 crore from the showroom,” Kumar said.
