Ronnie Srewvala, Dell Foundation invest in Micro Housing Finance

MFCL has not disclosed stake bought by investors

Ronnie Screwvala's venture fund Unilazer Ventures along with Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and India Financial Inclusion Fund have invested Rs 35 crore in housing finance Company Micro Housing Finance Corporation (MHFC) which lends loans to urban low income families.

MFCL has not disclosed the stake bought by the investors. India Financial Inclusion Fund and Michael & Susan Dell Foundation were existing investors in the company while Unilazer is the new investor in the company.

"We bought a minority stake. We have been evaluating a lot of companies in this sector, in both listed and unlisted space. MHFC has a lot of potential, that is why we invested in this company," said Amit Banka, managing director, Unilazer Ventures.
 

"Agriculture, micro housing, education are some of the focus areas for us," Banka said.
