Delta and Pine buys Vikki's Agrotech

US-based Delta and Pine Land Company (D&PL), a leading commercial breeder, producer and marketer of cotton plant seed, announced that it has recently acquired Vikki's Agrotech Private Limited, a Hyderabad-based commercial seed business enterprise.

Vikki's has licences to Monsanto's Bollgard and Bollgard II technologies for India, which it is planning to commercialise in the country this year.

D&PL stated in a press release here on Monday that it is considering additional business opportunities, including further acquisitions in India.

Through its subsidiary Deltapine India Private Limited, the American company has established a research farm in northern India to develop products for the Punjab region.
