Agro-chemicals and fertilisers company Dhanuka Agritech has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, Dhanuka Agri-Solutions, for selling its products in Bangladesh.
"We have set up a 100 per cent subsidiary in Bangladesh to market our products there. It will help us in registering our plant protection and pesticides products, which is mandatory in Bangladesh," Dhanuka Agritech Chairman Ram Gopal Agarwal said.
At present, the company's exports to Bangladesh are negligible, with only one pesticide - Quinlan in its portfolio of products for the country.
"At present, we are only selling Quinlan. But we have filed 10 products for registration under Dhanuka and hope to start selling a few of them from the next quarter," he added.
"We are expecting Rs 10 crore in business in the next three years," he added. The company is also looking at a similar venture in Latin American countries.
"We are looking at Latin American countries like Brazil. However, there are no immediate plans in this regard," Agarwal said.
Dhanuka Agritech, which had recently launched a pesticide for tea plants, also plans to launch another pesticide for protecting paddy from plant hoppers in collaboration with Mitsui Chemicals of Japan.
