“This is the Gaumukh of Udyog Ganga,” is the way Ramesh Oza, the Ambanis’ family guru, termed the new Dhirubhai H Ambani Memorial here, earlier the ancestral home of the legendary tycoon. “The country needs many more Dhirubhais and this place will encourage new-age entrepreneurs to venture into businesses.”

Oza was the man who formally presided over the inaugural ceremonies, on eagerly watched by a massive crowd of journalists who’d rushed from hundreds of miles for the fact that it brought the warring sons of Dhirubhai, with families, nuclear and extended, together for what mother Kokilaben had already termed a demonstration of “love between them”. No newshound could make out if there was such a display, as the family kept the media far away till they departed, amid tight security -- younger brother Anil and wife at 1 pm and elder sibling Mukesh with family two hours after.

"There was no discussion regarding business between the brothers. Today was more of a sentimental day for the family,"said Parimal Nathwani, group president, Reliance Industries. The brothers, with the clan, performed various religious rituals and, last evening, actively took part in a Gujarati garba dance event organised by their mother.
