DHL Worldwide Express India has received the Foreign Investment Promotion Board's (FIPB) clearance to import and sell electronic and computer components under the cash and carry wholesale trading and institutional sales clause.

The approval came a few days before DHL announced the take over of Blue Dart, its first acquisition in the Asia Pacific region. The approval covers power supply units, cables for a computer, electro magnetic shields, computer parts other than mother boards, monitors and mouse, LCD monitor (flat panel ), projector, chassis for networking etc.

The company has a foreign collaboration approval since March 2002. It entitles 100 per cent foreign equity participation for international air express service provider business.

The earlier agreement also meant that DHL India will act as the inbound pre-paid consignments provider for DHL BV in India and DHL BV will render similar services to DHL India, outside India.
