Diamond Cables bags Rs 14 crore order

The Vadodara-based Diamond Cables Ltd (DCL), a manufacturer of alloy conductors, on Monday bagged an order worth Rs 14 crore from Reliance Energy to supply the latest technology of 'low tension cross linked polyethene' (LT XLPE) cables.
The order was bagged through a process of internet bidding conducted by the e-procurement site, freemarket.com.
"These cables are to be supplied for upgradation of power systems in the metros of Mumbai and Delhi. This order is in addition to the orders aggregating to Rs 40 crore executed for upgradation of power systems by Reliance Energy for Orissa and Andhra Pradesh," Amit Bhatnagar, director, Diamond Cables, said.
"The company has already bagged orders worth Rs 147 crore from Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for supply of high technology aluminium alloy conductors," he added.
"DCL is the only Indian company to manufacture integrated specially cables and conductors and is now Asia's largest manufacturer of all aluminium alloy conductors," said Bhatnagar.
According to Bhatnagar, a leading European company also has shown recently its keen interest in DCL. The companys client based comprises of industrial majors like ABB and Tata Steel.
