Vadodara-based Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (DPIL) has set up an ultra high voltage cable testing laboratory at its facility at Vadadala near Savli.
In a statement filed on Friday, DPIL informed that the testing facility would be the first of its kind in India to have capabilities to test cables up to 500 kv for partial discharge, impulse test among other types of tests as per statutory standards.
"The high energy of impulse generator makes it possible to test not only the cable samples but other electrical equipment like transformers and insulators," the company statement said.
S K Negi, managing director of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd will inaugurate the laboratory, the company stated.
"This laboratory will surely be an added advantage for DPIL in the market and this will fetch good business for the company in the future adding to the company's growth, success and prosperity and ultimately enhance stakeholders' value," Amit Bhatnagar, managing director of the company said in a statement.
DPIL shares traded at Rs 108.60 during afternoon trades today on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), nearly flat against previous close.
