Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, a division of media firm Discovery, today said it has signed an agreement with Bashundhara Infotainment for distributing Discovery's bouquet of channels in Bangladesh.

Under the agreement, Bashundhara Infotainment will distribute three channels — Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Discovery Travel & Living, Discovery said in a statement.

Bashundhara Infotainment will be responsible for increasing the channels viewership through its relationships with the cable operators and multi system operators (MSOs), it added.

"Our agreement with Bashundhara Group is in line with our strategy to further deepen our channels' penetration in the South Asia region," Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific Senior Vice President and General Manager (India) Rahul Johri said.

Globally, Discovery Channel is one of the world's most widely distributed television brands, reaching 368 million households in more than 170 countries in 35 languages.
