Over 12 million homes with television in the four metros have to move to digital signals by October 31.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has launched the task of completing digital switchover of existing analogue cable TV in the country in a phased manner by December 31, 2014.

On the new initiative launched by DishTV today, Gupta said it will be available in all four metros and help the company get new subscribers who can watch more than 70 channels for Rs 400 for a year.

They should be active subscribers for which they should make a minimum recharge of Rs 200 every six months.

The scheme is offered at different charges from Rs 1,390 and Rs 2,690 for high-definition set-top box along with digital recorder, he said.
