California Soft net dips
 
California Software Company has reported a 54 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 67 lakh for the quarter ended September 2005 compared with Rs 1.45 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
 
Revenue was higher by 11 per cent to Rs 7.51 crore from Rs 6.75 crore. Consolidated net profit was Rs 54 lakh and consolidated revenue was Rs 23.11 crore.
 
Madras Cements has reported a growth of 44 per cent in its profit after tax at Rs 18.81 crore compared with Rs 13.08 crore last fiscal. Net sales grew by 25 per cent to Rs 246.09 crore from Rs 196.05 crore.
 
For the half year ended September 2005, profit after tax was higher by 22 per cent to Rs 36.87 crore from Rs 30.21 crore. Net sales of the company has also grown by 25 per cent to Rs 465.96 crore from Rs 371.08 crore.
 
Dishman Pharma net up
 
Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals has reported sales turnover of Rs 52.73 crore for the quarter ended September 2005 compared with Rs 37.81 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, registering a growth of 39 per cent. Profit after tax increased to Rs 12.29 crore against Rs 7.72 crore.
 
On an half yearly basis, income from operations on stand alone basis have registered an increase of 37 per cent from Rs 68.39 crore during the previous fiscal to Rs 94.10 crore during the current fiscal.
 
Eicher Motors net down
 
Eicher Motors has declared a net income of Rs 352.95 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005. After accounting for operating expenditure of Rs 351.06 crore and other income of Rs 6.07 crore, the company has declared an operating profit before depreciation and interest of Rs 7.96 crore.
 
With depreciation and interest at Rs 9.52 crore and Rs 3.66 crore respectively, there is a net loss of Rs 5.22 crore for the quarter. The previous year's figures also included operations of the tractor business, which was divested during the first quarter of the current financial year.
 
Hence the figures of the previous year are not fully comparable. The segment revenue (net of excise duty) from commercial vehicles was Rs 302.1 as compared with Rs 280.26 in the same quarter last year registering a growth of 7.8 per cent during the quarter.
 
However, inspite of growth in volumes, the profitability margins have dropped during the quarter resulting in lower profit for the segment.
