DishTV, a part of the media conglomerate Zee Group and the market leader in India's Direct to Home (DTH) services space, aims to add 3.5 million new subscribers in 2011-12.
Presently, DishTV has breached the 10 million mark in terms of subscriber base.
“We aim to add 3.5 million subscribers across the country in 2011-12 in the next fiscal and this growth in subscriber base will come on the back of the newly launched High Definition (HD) pack for 30 channels. With 30 HD channels, we will have a significant competitive advantage and quantum leap over competition. We expect this to translate into significant gains in terms of market share, Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) as well as total revenue for the company. The addition of ESPN feed on our HD format will immensely enrich the experience of cricket fans who would be watching the ICC Cricket World Cup”, said Animesh Mishra, deputy vice president (marketing), DishTV India Ltd.
In Orissa, DishTV has a subscriber base of three lakh and operates through 62 distributors.Dish truHD will be offered at a price of Rs 2390 which will include one month's Platinum subscription and all 30 HD channels.
DishTV has a presence in around 6600 towns of the country with a distribution network of 1400 distributors and 55,000 dealers.
