Every year through India VoluntEARS Week, Disney India takes up social causes to spread cheer and joy in the surroundings and society. The initiative invites employees to come forward and VoluntEAR for the selected cause. The team responsible for this is called the Disney India Citizenship team.
Around 400+ employees of Disney India from offices across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore will be taking out time between 26th and 30th September to pack meals. Each meal will comprise of dry uncooked rice, dal, dehydrated vegetables and a micronutrient blend of 23 essential vitamins and minerals. The team has pledged to pack 1.45 lakh meals in a week (Monday-Friday). As of yesterday, there are 52,932 meals already packed by the team (Bangalore and Mumbai).
The packed meals are them distributed among previously identified underprivileged families and individuals.
