"We have sizeable land in Lucknow, and the land is being acquired," said Ajay Khanna, managing director, DLF Commercial Complexes Ltd.

"Since Lucknow is emerging as a trade capital, witnessing quick development in information technology, retail, banking, construction, insurance, etc., we consider this the right time to come here," he said.

Khanna was here to announce the launch of the maiden commercial project, DLF Plaza, to be developed on approximately 750,000 square feet in Gomti Nagar in the city.

The investment estimated for the project is Rs 1,600 crore.

The complex will consist of five blocks, with rental office space, a food court, and a 1,000-seat four-screen multiplex.

It will also support the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, spread over 120,000 square feet.
