Domestic car sales up 8% in Oct

Domestic car sales increased 7.6% in October to 79,403 units as against 73,772 units in October 2004.

According to figures released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers Association (SIAM), motorcycle sales in the domestic market increased 28.8% to 6,23,434 units from 4,84,008 units in the same month last year.

Commercial vehicle sales registered a growth of 18% at 31,663 units during the month as against 26,645 units in the same month last year.
