Dorset looks for alliances in India

Looking at forming alliances across aviation and aerospace, luxury yatch market, animation, construction, food, bio pharma, electronics and others, Dorset Business The Chamber of Commerce, chief executive, Peter Scott led a delegation of industry personnel to India.
 
"In Pune, we are looking at forming alliances in the construction, specialty treatment services like sewage treatment and disposal, biopharma and creative media among others," said Rose Brooman, trade development manager, UK Trade & Investment (South West), who was accompanied by industry members at the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture.
 
Speaking of the huge opportunity present in animation in India, Scott said, "There is a requirement for 25,000 animation professionals in the country where as only 5,000 are produced currently. We can help in bridging that gap." Dorset is the home town of animation company Aardman, which is interested in India for forming strategic alliances.
 
The delegation was on a whirlwind tour to Western India. It stopped over at Pune after a two-day visit at Mumbai and its next halt is at Bangalore. "We are here to get a better understanding of the market and hope to initiate reciprocal visits to Dorset," said Scott.
 
Dorest is located in South West UK and is well connected to London by rail and road and has a port and international airport.
