Reliance Communications (RCom) today said the department of telecommunications (DoT) has made the necessary amendments to its unified access service licence (UASL) enabling it to offer GSM services in addition to its existing CDMA services. The company, which already offers GSM services in the eastern states, will start its pan-India services soon. The CDMA major had already paid the licence fees of Rs 1,651 crore for a pan-India GSM licence in October. The licence will put RCom ahead in the GSM spectrum queue when compared with 46 other companies which have showen interest for licences. |
