Dredging Corp Q4 net down 34% |
Dredging Corporation of India has posted a net profit of Rs 33.01 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2005, down 34 per cent from Rs 49.39 crore in the same quarter previous year. |
Total revenue decreased to Rs 145 crore (Rs 161.85 crore). For the year ended March 2005, the net profit and revenues were down at Rs 111.36 (Rs 170.02 crore) and Rs 546.10 crore (Rs 560.93 crore) respectively during previous year. |
Dunlop in red, loss at Rs 4.78 cr |
Dunlop India Ltd, whose operations have been suspended, has reported a loss of Rs 4.78 crore during 2004-05 as compared with a net profit of Rs 32.67 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal, according to company sources. |
The company's loss at the end of fourth quarter declined to Rs 16.40 from Rs 20.75 crore previous financial year. As operations of Dunlop was suspended, there was no revenue from sales. However, other income during 2004-05 stood at Rs 37.02 crore, higher from Rs 9.19 crore in the previous year. |
Eastern Silk PAT up 54% at Rs 24 cr |
Eastern Silk Industries, a leading exporter of silk fabrics, has reported a 54 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 23.92 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005, against Rs 15.48 crore in the previous year. It attributed the improvement in operating profit margins to its emphasis on high end, premium quality fabrics for export. Net sales stood at Rs 294.57 crore (Rs 272.65 crore). |
However, fourth quarter sales dropped to Rs 47.26 crore from Rs 74.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2003-04 on account of reduced shipment of handloom fabrics in the last quarter but earnings before interest, depreciation and tax improved to 18 per cent in the last quarter from 10.8 per cent in the corresponding quarter of 2004. |
