DSK aims to sell over 3000 Benelli superbikes in 2015

In terms of bookings, of the total 367 bookings garnered from across the country so far, the company has seen around 17 bookings from Gujarat

With already over 360 bookings for the Benelli superbikes from across the country since its launch on March 19, 2015, DSK Motowheels is bullish about sales for the calendar year 2015. The company, which markets Korean motorcycle brand 'Hyosung' and Italian superbiking brand 'Benelli', expects to garner sales of over 2000 units and 3000 units in 2015, respectively.

"In 2011, there were only three super bike brands. Today, there are more than 12. The superbikes segment is growing rapidly in India. Currently, the growth rate for the segment is around 65 per cent with around 10,000 units being sold overall. Hence, we are bullish that we will do around 3000 sales of Benelli and over 2000 from Hyosung," said Shivapada Ray, COO, DSK Motowheels Pvt. Ltd. while launching a Benelli showroom in Ahmedabad. Ray added that the company aims to be number one superbike player in India by 2017 in terms of sales.

The company has a plant in Wai in Maharashtra where it can assemble 35 bikes per day in two shifts. While it is only recently that the company began launching Benelli showrooms across the country, DSK Motowheels has around 41 showrooms of Hyosung in India. The new Benelli showroom launched in Ahmedabad showcases the entire range of DSK Benelli superbikes available in India, under the dealership of 'Tangible Superbikes'. The bikes' price range from Rs 2.89 lakh to Rs 12.07 lakh.
