Duncans Tea Chief Operating Officer M C Appaiah said that as part of the tie-up with ITC, the company would focus to sell sachets through the "e-choupals", while large volumes would be sold among the farmers during harvesting seasons.

"Currently we are undertaking a trial run in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra," Appaiah said, adding, "this initiative is expected to contribute about 10 per cent in our revenue".

Besides expanding in the domestic market, Duncans Tea is also moving overseas with plans to sale its products in the US and the Caribbean from the next month.

"We are planning to tap the NRI's and second generation people living abroad. Currently, we are talking to some agents, who buy branded products here and sell there (the US)," Appaiah said.

Some of the major brands from the Duncans stable include Double Diamond, Runglee Rungliot, Sargam and Shakti.

Appaiah said on the back of market expansions, the firm is targeting 25 per cent growth in its turnover in the current financial year.

"Last fiscal our turnover was Rs 180 crore and this year we are expecting it to grow by about 25 per cent," he said.
