Duravit India eyes 25% growth for 2015

The company's manufacturing facility in Tarapur has a capacity of 500,000 units per annum

Duravit India, a wholly owned subsidiary of  German sanitary ware and bathroom solutions provider, Duravit AG, today said that it expects 25-30 per cent growth for the year 2015. The company on Thursday opened its first design studio at its Tarapur-based facility in Anand district.

The company’s manufacturing facility in Tarapur has a capacity of 500,000 units per annum out of which current production is over 200,000 per annum. It exports 20-25 per cent of the units, while rest are sold in domestic markets.

In calendar year 2013, Duravit India’s turnover was Rs 85 crore, said Austosh Shah, Duravit India’s managing director. “Because of slowdown in realty business some orders got cancelled or got delayed. But for 2015 we expect 25-30 per cent growth,” he added. Duravit follows calendar year for accounting purpose.
 

Duravit AG’s CEO Frank Richter said that though their global business was currently growing at 7 to 8 per cent per annum, business of Duravit India has witnessed a year-on-year growth of 20-25 per cent. Richter also inaugurated company’s first design studio in India. Duravit India was set up as part of the agreement signed between Duravit AG and Gujarat government during Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2007. The unit started production in September 2010.

“Duravit design trends are notable for their durable modern forms featuring a systematic reduction to the essentials. In addition we offer the ideal solution for different budgets and lifestyles,” said Shah.

“The new Duravit Showcase makes design, innovation and technology more understandable and real for customers, ” he added. The showcase offers a wide range of products – from modern classics such as the Starck 1 series to practical wellness products like Sundeck or the innovative SensoWash shower-toilet.
