Limeroad.com, an e-commerce portal backed by a $5 million funding, launched its operation in Hyderabad.

The portal is based on a business model where users can create a catalog (wish-list) from the available products on the website and categorise them into party wear, work attire and traditional wear. They can also shop by cities, brands and by looks.

“To give an exclusive store experience to the online consumers, the portal runs on a scrapbook or a magazine model, which contains looks of successful women across sectors,” Limeroad.com’s founder Suchi Mukherjee told the media here on Wednesday.

The venture, which is focused on a design-led approach, offers products under apparel, accessories, home decor and food, and delivers products in 2-3 working days.

Mukherjee, who has worked with eBay, Skype and Gumtree, started the venture in October 2012 along with Manish Saksena and Ankush Mehra.

The start-up has raised $5 million from Matrix Partners India and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
