eInfochips to execute Pune project for QLogic

The Ahmedabad-based eInfochips Inc, a provider of ASIC design services, embedded systems solutions and IP cores, will execute design centre outsourcing for the Nasdaq-listed QLogic Corporation to set up and operate a QLogic design centre in Pune.
 
The design centre will operate as an extension of the QLogic engineering team headquartered in California. Engineers at the QLogic design centre will focus on core research and development of new products for the rapidly growing storage area network (SAN) market.
 
"A dedicated team of 60 engineers will work for QLogic design centre at Pune. Our software expertise proved to be a perfect fit for the broad portfolio of QLogic technology and products and we are eyeing at more such tie-ups. Our proven methodology for offshore development projects has been a resounding success over the year and has been an important component in success of all the projects," said Tapan Joshi, vice-president, marketing, eInfochips Inc.
 
EInfochips has state-of-the-art design centre employing over 200 design engineers in Ahmedabad. For the Pune centre, the company has earmarked over $1.5 million over the two years. The company also plans to ramp up to a team strength of over 200 engineers in the next two years.

Powering solutions for leading companies like Cisco, Dell, EMC, Fujitsu, Hitachi, HP, IBM, NEC Network Appliance, Quantum, Storage Tek and Sun Microsystems, the broadline of QLogic controller chips, host bus adapters, network switches and management software move data from storage devices through network of fabric to servers.
 
eInfochips has specialised knowledge in design and verification, automated verification methodologies using physical layout and implication, filmware developments, anlorithms and board design.
 
The company's India and US design centres have delivered embedded solutions to variety of customers, increasing their cost-effectiveness, reducing their time-to-market and growing their market strength.
 
The company targets to achieve a cumulative annual growth rate of 60 per cent in its turnover for the next five years. The company has reported a turnover of $4.2 million in the last financial year and eyes to close the current financial year with a turnover exceeding $6.2 million.
 
The company eyes turnover of over $10 million by the end of the financial year 2005-2006. The company's customers includes Broadcom, LSI Logic, Cisco, Sun Microsystems, Phillips, IDEO and Northup Grumman amongst others.
