Ahmedabad-based eInfochips Training and Research Academy (eiTRA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Centre of Entrepreneurship Development (CED) of Government of Gujarat.

As part of the MoU, eiTRA and CED are set to jointly set up a highly skilled training centre for engineers in the ICT industry.

"We felt a need for high level skills among ICT industry aspirants. Hence, we have tied up with the Government of Gujarat that can give us reach among aspiring engineers across the state. With the help of ICT industry players, the centre will provide special skills training specifically meant for the industry," said Ekta Mehul, head - eiTRA.

Apart from a tie up with CED, eiTRA also recently announced its partnership with Silver Oak College of Engineering and Technology to set up a training and R&D center to bridge the industry-academia gap.

The new Socet-eiTRA Training Center will house laboratories for training on Embedded systems, Robotics, iphone (apple Laboratories), and other cutting edge technologies.  The labs are upgradable and backed by industry and academia experts such as Texas Instruments and IIT Bombay. Besides R&D and innovation, this centre will also offer the full gamut of courses in technology and skill development.

"The basic resource for the growth of the ICT industry in Gujarat is human resource.  The new center will look to train and equip tomorrow's work-force with the technology and skills required by industry," said Pratul Shroff, CEO, eInfochips.
