Boosted by strong growth in women healthcare segment, Elder Pharmaceuticals' consolidated net profit rose by 42.12% to Rs 19.23 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011, over the same period previous fiscal.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 13.53 crore for the same period last fiscal.
"Our women healthacare segment, including calcium supplement for women -- Shelcal, has done well during the quarter," Elder Pharmaceuticals Joint Managing Director Alok Saksena told PTI.
Total income of the company stood at Rs 331.49 crore for the second quarter, as against Rs 210.87 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
The company, however, did not provide a revenue break-up for its different business segments.
Shares of Elder Pharmaceuticals today ended at Rs 393.85 on the BSE, down 2.12% from its previous close.
