Elecon bags orders worth Rs 524.2 crore

Gujarat-based engineering company Elecon has seized orders worth Rs 525.2 crore from companies within and outside country, a release here said. The orders are bagged by its material handling division.

While the Indian companies contribute a major Rs 499.93 crore of the order book, the foreign companies command a relatively smaller share of Rs 24.27 crore. Among the Indian companies state-owned Bharat Heavy Engineering Company has placed two orders totaling to Rs.68.69 crore for designing, engineering, supply and transportation of mechanical equipment.

The largest order is placed by a south India based steel company Bramhani Industries for Rs 400 crore, split in two for supply of plant and equipment for raw material handling system package for various sites on a need basis.

 

International companies like Egypt-based Sponge Iron and Steel Company and Indonesian company PT. Tecgates Engineering have also placed orders for equipment.
 
Commenting on the big order wins, Prayasvin Patel, CMD, Elecon, said, “We are delighted to have procured prestigious orders worth Rs. 587 crore. These large orders reflect growth in both national and international market and are a result of Elecon’s increasing marketing efforts. We look forward to continuing this trend”.
