Eli Lilly launches anti-diabetes drug Byetta |

US drug major Eli Lilly has launched its new generation diabetes drug Byetta (exenatide injection) in India. The medicine is meant to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes in combination with metformin and/or sulphonylureas, two common oral diabetes medications, stated a company release. "The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates the number of people with diabetes in India will reach nearly 80 million by the year 2025.
