Emami Q3 net up 10% at Rs 85 cr

Kolkata-based FMCG firm Emami today reported a 9.6 per cent increase in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010 to Rs 85.55 crore.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs 78.05 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

Sales in the third quarter this fiscal stood at Rs 406.01 crore as against Rs 353.27 crore in the year-ago period, up 14.0 per cent, the company said in a statement.

Raw material cost during the quarter shot up to Rs 92.28 crore from Rs 71.9 crore in corresponding period last fiscal, it said, adding there was an 11.15 per cent increase in advertising and sales promotion expenditure to Rs 79.12 crore.

 

International business grew by 13.8 per cent during the third quarter with exports at Rs 46 crore, it said.

Emami scrips closed the day at Rs 410.45 per share on the BSE, down 0.89 per cent from the previous close.
