Emami Group today said it is scouting for acquisition in personal healthcare and edible oil sectors and an announcement in this regard would be made in this fiscal, a top company official said today.
"We are talking to some 3-4 FMCG companies in the personal healthcare. Similar talks are also been held with a few edible oil companies up for sale," Emami Group Director A V Agarwal said here today.
"The size of companies which are in our target begins from Rs 200 crore and as high as Rs 1,500 crore. Among them include companies listed on bourses," he said without divulging further details when asked about the size of the targets.
There are rumours that Emami is also aiming at acquiring Amrutanjan brand.
The company had acquired majority interest in Zandu Pharma last year. In the group only Emami is a listed entity.
The company was also looking at edible oil assets in the country.
Emami Biotech, a non-listed group company has edible oil making facility in Haldia of 1600 tonne per day and it will be augmented to 2,400 tonne in near future at a outgo of Rs 150-200 crore, Agarwal said.
