Claiming that Bosch has declared an "illegal shutdown" at its Audigodi plant here, MICO Employees Association (MEA) today insisted the contentious issue of outsourcing be referred to the Industrial Tribunal for adjudication.

A day after the failure of second round of conciliatory talks between the employees association and management held with the labour authorities, MEA representatives asserted that the employees were ready to resume work if the management allowed them.

"The Bosch Management has imposed an "illegal shutdown" since September 29, the day the employees went on a tool down strike opposing ancilliariasation and outsourcing of production, an issue which was not part of the tripartite agreement signed on October 25, 2010," MEA President N M Adyanathayya told reporters here.

He alleged Bosch has been bringing workers from its Nashik and Jaipur units to Bangalore to continue production activity.

Adyanathayya urged the company management to enter into a dialogue with the MEA to find a solution to the stir which has 'affected' about 3,500 workers, he said.
