A survey conducted in UK shows that a majority of UK employees value secure jobs and attractive pay over other benefits. The annual survey based on more than 1,000 telephone interviews was conducted on a random sample. It was conducted by Aon Loyalty Institute, a research business that looks at employee commitment.
The results showed that workers wanted attractive pay deals. Some two thirds said they would move jobs for any other employer that could offer a pay hike between 10-20 per cent. Only four among 10 said they would recommend their current company as a great place to work for.
People also wanted to work for companies that promoted workplace safety and which tried to reduce stress caused by overwork and poor management.

According to the survey, the least committed employees are men aged under 30, living in London. The survey nailed one suspicion that has created increasing concern for managements in the past two years ---- as more companies offer access to the Internet, comparatively few employees spend time at work on personal matters.
A little over half of those questioned said they spent no company time attending to personal issues and only 7.5 per cent reported spending more than two hours a week of work time managing their personal lives.
