Engineers India wins Rs 720-cr refinery contract

Company will raise crude refining capacity to 15.5 mn tonnes a year from present 9.5 mn tonnes at BPCL refinery in Kochi

State-owned Engineers India Ltd (EIL) has bagged a Rs 720 crore contract to provide engineering consultancy services to Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd's Kochi refinery expansion project.

"The project involves enhancing crude oil refining capacity of the refinery from the present level of 9.5 million tonnes per annum to 15.5 million tonnes," EIL said in a statement here.

EIL will be providing consultancy services for project management, process design, detailed engineering, procurement, tendering, construction management & supervision, assistance in start-up and commissioning.

EIL has to its credit 50 oil refinery projects including grassroots, revamp and expansions.

It has provided services for most of refineries of Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, Mangalore Refinery and HPCL Mittal Energy Ltd.

EIL is a total solutions consultancy company & engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contractor in oil refining, petrochemicals, pipelines, oil & gas terminal & storages, mining & metallurgy and infrastructure projects.

The company has diversified into newer areas such as nuclear, solar & thermal power, water & solid waste management, city gas distribution and fertilisers.
