Enron's former chief executive Jeffrey Skilling has been sentenced to more than 24 years in prison for his role in orchestrating a massive fraud in one of the biggest scandals in US corporate history.

Federal Judge Sim Lake yesterday sentenced Jeffery Skilling to nearly a quarter century behind bars and ordered him to remain free with an electronic monitor on his ankle while US prison officials decide which facility will he be reporting to for his prison.

Lake also ordered Skilling to participate in alcohol and mental health programmes and approved the forfeiture of $45 million to be distributed to Enron employees.(PTI)
