Equifax names Sanjay Patel as India CEO

Prior to joining Equifax, he was a partner and senior vice president for India region at Polaris Financial Tech

Equifax Credit Information Services today said it has appointed Sanjay Patel as managing director and chief executive of its India business. He will be responsible for growing the company's India operations that include consumer services, business services, and product innovations.

"Sanjay brings to Equifax a wealth of experience in driving growth and productivity gains through strong customer quality programmes, product strategy, customer relationship management, and new business development," Shahid Charania, chairman of Equifax India, said in a statement.

"His past success in managing teams to consistently exceed expectations and customer satisfaction goals will enhance Equifax's offerings of targeted solutions and better address the needs of the Indian market," Charania added.

Patel holds a master's degree in business administration from NMIMS as well as an industrial engineering degree from IIIE. Prior to joining Equifax, he was a partner and senior vice president for India region at Polaris Financial Technology.

He has also held senior roles with Gartner Research and Advisory Services, Datamatics Technologies and GTL.

Equifax launched its operations in India in 2010 as a joint venture between Equifax and six Indian financial institutions including Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Kotak Mahindra Prime, Religare Finvest, Sundaram Finance and Union Bank of India.
