Integrating people is the biggest challenge faced by a chief executive after a merger. Most companies take years to complete the process, while some never achieve it.

But Richard S Bobrow, the global CEO of Ernst & Young, hopes to integrate the teams of Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young within three years of announcing the merger last year.
