Escorts Q1 net flat, income up 59%

Escorts today reported a miniscule 4.1% rise in net profit at Rs 3.04 crore for its first quarter ended December 31, 2006 as against Rs 2.92 crore in Q1FY06.

According to a release issued by the company to the Bombay Stock Exchange, total income increased by 58.89% at Rs 517.82 crore as compared to Rs 325.88 crore in Q1FY06.
